Every gas job we do gets pressure-tested with calibrated gauges and inspected before sign-off.
Gas line installs & extensions
New stove, dryer, fireplace, generator, or tankless water heater? We size the line correctly for the BTU load and the total developed run length, using either Schedule 40 black iron or yellow CSST (with proper bonding to the electrical service ground, which is code and missed on a lot of older CSST installs). Every run pressure-tested at 1.5x operating pressure for a minimum of 15 minutes.
Leak detection
If you smell gas, leave the house and call your utility first (PECO or PGW) — they'll come kill the meter. Once the line is safe we use electronic gas detectors and soap solution to pinpoint the leak, isolate the section, repair or replace, and re-test the entire branch to verify zero loss over 15 minutes on a calibrated gauge.
Appliance hookups & shut-offs
Every gas appliance needs a code-compliant shut-off within 6 feet, a sediment trap (drip leg) ahead of the appliance, and a flex connector rated for the appliance type. We install all three and verify with a manometer that the appliance gets the correct inlet pressure under firing load — most performance complaints (poor flame, slow recovery) trace back to inlet pressure starvation.
Code, permits, & inspections
Gas work in CA requires permits and inspections in most townships and boroughs. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and stand for it. No undocumented work, no liability questions later.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add a gas line for a new appliance to my existing system?
Usually yes — we size the addition against the BTU load of every existing appliance to make sure the supply main can carry the new load. If the main is undersized we'll quote the upgrade alongside the new run.
How do I know if my CSST is properly bonded?
CSST installed before 2009 often lacks proper bonding to the electrical service ground — a lightning safety issue that can ignite the gas line. We inspect every CSST system we touch and quote bonding work if it's missing.
Is the smell of gas always an emergency?
Treat it as one. Leave the house, don't switch lights or anything that sparks, and call your utility from outside. Once they've shut the meter, call us and we'll find and repair the leak.
Are you licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes. Nava's Elite Plumbing carries a current California master plumber registration, $1M general liability coverage, and workers' comp on every technician. A certificate of insurance naming you or your property manager is available on request before we start.
Do you give upfront pricing?
Every job is quoted in writing before any work begins. We price by scope, not by the hour, so the number you approve is the number you pay — barring scope changes you approve in writing.
Do you require money down?
No deposit on standard service calls. On larger projects (repipes, sewer replacements, gas line installs) we phase work into progress payments tied to city inspection milestones — you never pay ahead of completed work.
