Before recommending a full replacement, we verify which component is actually failing: the meter, the inlet valve, the outlet valve, the unions, or the upstream service line. Diagnostics first — quote second.
What we replace at the meter
Inlet and outlet ball valves, leaking meter unions and gaskets, defective dual-check backflow preventers, and corroded brass fittings. On older installs with lead-soldered joints or galvanized stubs we recommend transitioning the immediate run to type-L copper or PEX-A.
Coordination with your water authority
Meter swaps and curb-stop work usually require your municipal water authority to operate the street-side stop. We schedule the appointment, pull any required permit, and stage parts so the actual shut-off window is as short as possible.
Pressure check while we're there
While the meter is open we record static and dynamic pressure on both sides. If you're over 80 PSI (the IRC limit) we'll recommend a PRV — pressures above 80 destroy water heaters, toilet fill valves, and washing-machine hoses years ahead of schedule.

Frequently asked questions
Can you replace just the valve and leave the meter alone?
Yes. We can swap the inlet, outlet, or both meter valves without touching the meter body. If your authority requires a meter pull to access the union, we coordinate that with them.
Why is my water pressure high — do I need a PRV?
Anything above 80 PSI at the house side of the meter is over the IRC limit and shortens the life of every fixture you own. We'll measure on the spot and quote a PRV install if you're over.
Are you licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes. Nava's Elite Plumbing carries a current California master plumber registration, $1M general liability coverage, and workers' comp on every technician. A certificate of insurance naming you or your property manager is available on request before we start.
Do you give upfront pricing?
Every job is quoted in writing before any work begins. We price by scope, not by the hour, so the number you approve is the number you pay — barring scope changes you approve in writing.
Do you require money down?
No deposit on standard service calls. On larger projects (repipes, sewer replacements, gas line installs) we phase work into progress payments tied to city inspection milestones — you never pay ahead of completed work.
