Most replacements are a one-hour service call. For main shut-offs and meter valves we coordinate with your local water authority so the line is killed cleanly with no neighborhood notice.
Every valve type we handle
Full-port ball valves on mains and branches, 1/4-turn angle stops under sinks and toilets, washing-machine box stops, boiler drains, frost-free hose bibbs, PRVs (pressure-reducing valves), thermal expansion tanks, and gas appliance shut-offs. If it stops or regulates flow, we replace it.
Why gate valves should always be replaced, not repaired
Gate valves use a wedge that drops into the flow path. Once mineral scale builds up on the wedge or seat, the valve won't fully close — and rebuilding it inside the wall is almost always more expensive than swapping in a 1/4-turn full-port ball valve. Modern ball valves give you positive shut-off, visible position (handle parallel = open, perpendicular = closed), and a 25+ year service life.
Whole-house shutdown isolation
We isolate the smallest section of plumbing required to do the job — usually a single fixture branch — so the rest of the house keeps water. For main valve work where the curb stop is needed, we schedule with the water authority and stage everything so the off-time is under an hour.

Frequently asked questions
My main shut-off won't close all the way. Can you replace it without shutting down the street?
Most of the time, yes. If your curb stop is accessible we can use it to kill incoming pressure long enough to swap the main valve. If the curb stop is buried or seized, we coordinate with your local water authority for a brief shut-down.
Why are quarter-turn valves better than gate valves?
Ball valves seal positively in either position, won't seize from disuse, and tell you their state at a glance (handle parallel = open). Gate valves silt up, drip from the packing, and often won't fully close after years of disuse.
Are you licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes. Nava's Elite Plumbing carries a current California master plumber registration, $1M general liability coverage, and workers' comp on every technician. A certificate of insurance naming you or your property manager is available on request before we start.
Do you give upfront pricing?
Every job is quoted in writing before any work begins. We price by scope, not by the hour, so the number you approve is the number you pay — barring scope changes you approve in writing.
Do you require money down?
No deposit on standard service calls. On larger projects (repipes, sewer replacements, gas line installs) we phase work into progress payments tied to city inspection milestones — you never pay ahead of completed work.
